It has been over 30 years since the murder of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal (December 6, 1989). This act of violent misogyny shook our country and led Canadians to designate December 6 as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

Ways to honour the victims of this tragedy on December 6:
-Wear a Moose hide Pin or a white ribbon. You can make one at home or order one online.
-Observe a moment of silence at 11:00 am.
-Attend a vigil in your community.
-Notice and bring attention to subtle and large acts of misogyny. You can have a huge influence on ending gender-based violence when you speak up to your friends in-person and online, and through text.

Today and throughout the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence (from November 25 to December 10), add your voice to the conversation and share the ways you are being part of the solution to end gender-based violence. Use the hashtag #16Days.

Our last day with #SMASH at Ecole William McDonald Middle School brought so many curious questions about puberty. These participants were awesome and were brave enough to ask questions about things they have heard at school, with their friends, and online. Because of this, our facilitators were able to debunk myths about consent, relationships, and puberty!

Our 2nd day with #SMASH at Ecole William McDonald Middle School brought some emotions to the surface in a safer space for young men, masculine, and non-binary people to talk about uncomfortable feelings that sometimes come with growing up. It was nice to process these emotions in a non-judgement way that acknowledges the difficulties while offering evidence-based solutions.
